Ollie Drake announced his departure from the Thurlow Nunn Premier League side this morning.
Ollie leaves Goddy sitting mid-table in the League in what has been a heavily disrupted season due to the current global pandemic.
He has been at the helm at the David Wilson Homes Stadium since 2017 and overseen one of the most successful periods in the Club’s history.
Ollie delivered thanks to Chairman Karly Hurst and the Committee for giving him the chance to manage the Step 5 outfit following a successful time at Hardwick FC in the Kershaw Premier League.
Ollie said: "I have made a very conscious decision to step down as Godmanchester Rovers manager with immediate effect. This is not something I have taken lightly, however, I feel it is the right time to ensure the club has the opportunity to find a replacement ahead of the proposed re-start of the season on the 9th January.”
The Club would like to thank Ollie for all his efforts and commitment throughout his time at Bearscroft, in particular, our cup double-winning season and during these uncertain times of the COVID pandemic.
Karly Hurst said “ Ollie is one of a few good young managers, whom we at Goddy have been fortunate to have to manage the team over the last four seasons. I wish to thank him for all his efforts. I fully understand the tough decision that he has had to make and I would like to wish him every success in his future.
